The Flying Pig Downtown Hostel Amsterdam

We were within walking distance of iconic live music spots like Paradiso, Sugar Factory, and Melkweg. The vibrant atmosphere and lively on-site activities made our stay truly memorable.

My wife says that families with young kids may benefit from quieter areas within the hostel.

The Pig bars are the perfect place to party, meet people, and chill on the pillow stage. I loved exploring the city's museums and joining the crazy canal swimming event. Vondelpark was a great spot for beers and games with locals and expats.

Good location, close to attractions and public transportation. the staff was friendly and helpful, providing useful information about the city. the rooms were clean and had comfortable beds.

The facilities were outdated and in need of renovation. the heating system was inadequate, resulting in cold rooms.

I recently stayed at The Flying Pig Downtown for the first time while traveling solo. The location was perfect, with easy access to public transportation and within walking distance of the city center. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The hostel struck a great balance between being social and comfortable, with a welcoming atmosphere and clean facilities. The beds were comfortable and the overall experience exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be returning.

The location of this hotel is just perfect! It's right in the center of the city, making it super convenient to explore all that Amsterdam has to offer. You can easily walk to all the main attractions and it's surrounded by great restaurants and bars.

The only thing I would suggest improving is the bathroom. It would be great to have bathmats in the shower to prevent water from flowing out.

Always return for Christmas to this spot. They helped with plug adaptors. Perfect for me: Wi-Fi, shared kitchen, air conditioning, bar, welcome drink.

The cozy and charming decor of the common areas made me feel right at home, with comfortable seating and easy accessibility for senior people. The hotel's central location made it effortless for me to explore the city's attractions, allowing me to enjoy the vibrancy of Amsterdam with ease.

I would have appreciated more assistance from the staff for senior guests, such as better guidance on local excursions.

The private room is cozy and has everything you need for a chill stay. The TV is a nice touch for winding down, and the fridge is perfect for keeping drinks cold. Having a private bathroom is a major win for me too.

The shower pressure was a bit weak, but hey, some people might dig that spa-like vibe.

Plus, breakfast is included and is not bad at all.

Some guests reported that they found it hard to sleep due to noise from other guests in their dorms.

Great spot to stay in the heart of the city. Beds are cozy and staff is accommodating. Central location makes it easy to access popular tourist attractions. Lockers are useful and facilities are clean. Highly recommended for a budget-friendly stay.

The bar had a great atmosphere and was perfect for socialising with other guests. I loved that there was a pool table where I could challenge new friends to a game. I had a really fun time at the hostel.

The place could use a good scrubbing, especially the smoking lounge and it’s cushions. But it’s a backpacker hostel without mold or insects, can’t complain too much. The kitchen is closed from 00:00 until 12:00. So no possibility of making yourself an early breakfast or late night snacking, as food is not permitted to be stored in rooms. For the price per night, it was a little cheaper value than I expected. But I would still recommend the place.
